BALTIMORE, MD — Anne Arundel County Fire and Coast Guard crews rescued four people from a boat in Herring Bay that was taking on water late Friday night. According to the Coast Guard, watchstanders received a cell phone call from someone onboard the vessel reporting the craft was in trouble.
A 45-foot response boat-medium boat crew and a 29-foot response boat-small boat crew from Coast Guard Station Annapolis responded. Once on the scene, the 45-foot response boat crew members transferred two people aboard the response boat, helped removed water from the vessel, and towed the boat to Herrington Harbour North marina. The 29-foot response boat crew members also helped get water out of the vessel and escorted the 45-foot response boat into the marina.
The Anne Arundel Fire boat transferred the other two people aboard their boat.
