County Executive To Speak at HCA Meeting

Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman will speak at the Harwood Civic Association’s meeting on May 14 at Galesville Memorial Hall.
The Harwood Civic Association (HAC) represents the residents of the greater Harwood and south county areas before county and state elected representatives and agencies on issues of importance to the community. HAC was founded in 1998 in response to the Small Area Planning Process.
The association invited Neuman to speak at its annual meeting on May 14 to discuss her priorities for the county.

“We looking for her to talk about what her priorities are for the county, especially for south county,” said HCA President Tony Gamboa. “She will talk about the transportation issues. Down here we are concerned about Route 2 and keeping south county rural. We’d like to hear her views on that.”
HCA hosts meetings once a year and the board meets four times a year. Gamboa said this is a first time a county executive has come to one of their meetings.

Chris Phipps, Chief Engineer for the County Public Works Department, also has been invited to speak at the meting. Phipps will discuss storm water issues and fees.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on May 14 Galesville Memorial Hall, at 952 Main St. in Galesville. Gamboa said Neuman will speak first.
“We are excited about her coming and we are lucky she is visiting with us,” Gamboa said.
