Couple Charged in Edgewater Subway Restaurant Robbery

A woman from California, MD, and a Lexington Park man reportedly used a BB gun to rob an Edgewater Subway restaurant, police say.

EDGEWATER, MD — A couple who reportedly used a BB gun to rob an Edgewater Subway restaurant have been charged in the holdup, authorities say.

The armed robbery was reported about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Subway located at 11 Lee Airpark Drive. Anne Arundel County Police say a woman entered the fast-food business with a gun, and demanded money. After employees complied, the woman left the store and got into a waiting vehicle driven by a man

Officers responding to the robbery report saw the vehicle northbound on Solomons Island Road, stopped the vehicle and arrested both suspects. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a black Daisy Winchester .177 caliber BB/pellet gun that police believe was used during the robbery.

Both suspects were charged with robbery and armed robbery. They are: Courtney Marie Tippett, 25, of the 45900 block of Clarks Road in California, Maryland, and Kevin Russell Bryant, 25, of the 21800 block of Hancock Road in Lexington Park, Maryland.
