Davidsonville Driver Charged With Running Down Teen

Police have charged a Davidsonville teen with intentionally hitting an Edgewater teen with his car.

EDGEWATER, MD — Anne Arundel County Police have charged a Davidsonville teen with intentionally hitting an Edgewater teen with his car Friday afternoon. The hit-and-run crash happened at Fairhill Drive and Londontown Road in Edgewater.

Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and detained the driver, Nicholas Kyle Hoffman, 17, of the 400 block of West Central Avenue in Davidsonville. The pedestrian who was hit — a 16-year-old Edgewater boy — was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for non-life-threatening injuries, officials say.

Investigators say that Hoffman intentionally struck the victim as he was walking along the road about 3 p.m. There is no word yet on why Hoffman may have targeted the other teen. Hoffman was charged with attempted homicide, first-degree assault, and related charges.
