Deale Man Nearly Drowns in Fall from Pier: Fire Officials
Anne Arundel County firefighters rescued an elderly Deale man who fell off a pier in the middle of the night at Paradise Marina.

DEALE , MD — An elderly Deale man nearly drowned early Tuesday when he fell from a pier into the water in Deale, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to Paradise Marina in the 6100 block of Drum Point Road about 2 a.m. for a reported drowning. Witnesses reported hearing an 83-year-old man yelling for help after he fell off the dock into the water.
Bystanders located the man and helped him stay above water until firefighters arrive and removed him from the water.

The patient was taken by paramedics to Anne Arundel Medical Center in serious condition to be treated for hypothermia.
