Michael McClellan died July 1.

Defrona “Dee” Smith, who spent 41 years as owner of the Edgewater Hair Salon, died July 1 at her home of 60 years in Edgewater Beach. She was 96. In 1956, Dee opened the Edgewater Beauty Salon and was a successful businesswoman her entire life. She worked into her 70s. Dee was always known to be beautifully well dressed, perfectly coiffed- and always the lady. 

Truitt McCall died June 30. 

Norma Ebner Creel, a 12-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Silver Spring, died June 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. 

Thomas D. Bissett, Sr., a 38-year resident of Edgewater, died on Saturday, June 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Tom graduated from Western High School and served in the U.S. Army in France during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of American Legion Post 226 in Mayo, the Annapolis Moose Lodge 296 and the Annapolis Elks Lodge 622.
