After the war, Delores held several file clerk positions until she married the love of her life, Thomas "Tommy" R. Moran, Jr. on January 15, 1947. Another career opened up for Delores when she became a school bus aide for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, a career that lasted for 17 years until she retired in 1994.

Delores enjoyed working in her many flower gardens over the years. She also loved crossword and word search puzzles, watching her "soaps" and game shows, listening to the original real country music and going for drives in the "country." Her greatest pleasures came from being with her extended family every weekend and also watching Major League Baseball games on TV, especially her beloved Baltimore Orioles. She was a true fan through thick or thin since 1971.
