Derek Anthony Steele Jr., 32, of Annapolis passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 6.

Derek was born to Judy and Derek Steele Sr. in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 25, 1982. He was raised in Edgewater by his parents, Judy and Carl Pagliaro.

Derek loved boats, Florida and palm trees. He worked at Persimmon Point Marina as a marine mechanic.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Powell, and Lou and Kathy Steele.

Derek is survived by his daughter, Genessa Dixon of Grasonville, MD; his parents, Judy and Carl Pagliaro and Derek Steele Sr. of Naples, FL; grandmother, Barbara Powell and many loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church, 377 West Central Ave. in Davidsonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Derek’s memory can be made to a memorial fund in the name of his daughter, Genessa Dixon. (More information to follow on account.)
