Drowning Victim Identified As Shady Side Resident: Police

A Shady Side man's body was pulled from the water Thursday; police have identified the victim and say it appears to be fishing accident.

SHADY SIDE, MD — A body found floating in the water by a pier in Shady Side Thursday afternoon was a local resident identified Friday morning as Marcus Ruben Lee, according to Anne Arundel County Police. Authorities were called just before 4 p.m. to the site near Chesapeake Avenue and Bay View Avenue.

Police and officers with the Maryland Natural Resources Police recovered Lee, 40, who appeared to have accidentally drowned while fishing. He was found at Cedarhurst on the Bay Fishing Pier.

Lee’s remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the final cause and manner of death.
