Drug Raid Turns Up Heroin/Fentanyl Mix In Shady Side: Police

Three Shady Side residents face drug charges after a raid at a residence where illicit activity was reported, police said.

SHADY SIDE, MD — Three Shady Side residents face drug charges after a Nov. 30 raid at a residence where illicit activity was reported, Anne Arundel County Police said. In October, the Southern District Tactical Narcotics Team received a tip about possible drug activity at a residence in the 5200 block of Nick Road in Shady Side, which led authorities to execute a search warrant at the residence.

During the raid, police seized:

  • 11.79 grams of heroin
  • .42 grams of unknown prescription (3 pills)
  • .12 grams of Xanax (1/4 pill)
  • 60.10 grams of Phencyclidine “PCP” (including weight of two glass containers)
  • 6.93 grams of Oxycodone (51 pills)
  • SigPro .40 caliber handgun (recovered stolen out of Calvert County)
  • Stihl Weed eater (recovered stolen out of Edgewater)
  • CDS paraphernalia

John Marshall Simms, 36, of the 5200 block of Nick Road, was charged with:

  • CDS: Possession with intent to distribute narcotics (three counts)
  • CDS: Possession-not marijuana (three counts)
  • CDS: Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Distribution/possession with intent to distribute fentanyl/heroin mix
  • Illegal possession of ammunition
  • Firearm used in a drug trafficking crime
  • CDS-possession of firearms
  • Regulated firearm:Illegal possession
  • Firearm possession by a felon

Kimberly Crystal Simms, 35, of the 5200 block of Nick Road, is charged with:
