UPDATED Edgewater Votes 2014: Republicans in Lead for County Executive, State's Attorney

Unofficial voting totals as of midnight in Anne Arundel County.

Republicans have won the governor’s race, with Edgewater’s Larry Hogan calling his victory the biggest upset in the country.

And in two top Anne Arundel County races, the GOP is also in the lead.

There were a few election day glitches, including a report of a fire Tuesday afternoon that caused Edgewater Elementary School to be evacuated. Voters returned to the building in about an hour.

And ten malfunctioning voting machines were taken out of service in Anne Arundel County. Several voters who contacted The Capital said their votes were changed from Republican candidates to Democrats, by the machines. Another voter said his vote on a ballot question was switched.

With 135 of 195 precincts reporting about midnight, unofficial vote totals show (* denotes incumbent):

County Executive

George Johnson (D) -- 38.35%

Steve Schuh (R) --61.45%

Anne Arundel State’s Attorney

Republican Wes Adams was ahead of incumbent Anne Colt Leitess.

Anne Colt Leitess* (D) -- 42.47%

Wes Adams (R) -- 57.47%
