Edgewater Driver Shoots Passenger: Police

Marvin Maldonado Tejada, 37, has been charged with attempted first degree murder after shooting the passenger in his vehicle, police say.

EDGEWATER, MD — An Edgewater man has been arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder and eight other related charges after he shot the passenger in his vehicle while he was driving down the road. Marvin Maldonado Tejada, 37, was at the same hospital as the 36-year-old victim when police apprehended him.

According to a police report, Tejada was driving along Forest Drive near Dominoe Road in Annapolis with the victim riding in the passenger seat. Tejada pulled out a gun and shot the other man in the lower leg while driving. Officers responded to Anne Arundel Medical Center after being notified by staff there about a shooting victim. They also found a loaded handgun in the vehicle Tejada was driving.
