Edgewater House Fire Causes Nearly $200K In Damage: Officials
An Edgewater house fire caused nearly $200,000 in damage. Nobody was hurt, but one of the pets is still missing.

EDGEWATER, MD — An Edgewater house fire caused $187,500 in damage on Tuesday, officials said.
Nobody was hurt in the blaze. Both of the family's dogs survived, but the cat was still missing as of Wednesday morning.
The accidental fire started around 5:08 p.m. in the Woodland Beach community, a press release said. Authorities are still investigating the exact area of origin.

The release said smoke detectors alerted the occupants, and they escaped safely while neighbors called 911.
Crews said they arrived in the 2100 block of Shore Drive and found flames on the rear exterior of the one-story, single-family home. The fire also extended into the attic.

Officials said a team of 65 controlled the blaze in about an hour.
