EDGEWATER, MD — Police announced that an Edgewater man died about three weeks after he got in a car accident. Officers identified the victim as 78-year-old Richard Mills Dykeman. Authorities noted that he died last Wednesday.

The Edgewater crash happened on Oct. 19 around 6:35 a.m. A 2006 Suzuki XL7 was heading north on Central Avenue, approaching a green signal for Mayo Road.
