Edgewater Man Killed In PG County Shooting: Police

A $25,000 reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest in the shooting death of an Edgewater man, police say.

EDGEWATER, MD — An Edgewater man died from multiple gunshots last week in a Prince George's County neighborhood. Police searched the Oxon Hill neighborhood Monday evening to try to find clues in the fatal shooting of Nayel Shabex, 23, of Widows Mite Road in Edgewater.

Police were called to the 5100 block of Deal Drive at 2:40 p.m. Feb. 1 and found Shabex dead of unresponsive inside a car. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Detectives are trying to identify a suspect and a motive in this case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. Tipsters will never have to give their name, authorities said.
