Edgewater Residents Sound Off on Snowplowing

EDGEWATER, MD—As of 8 a.m. Sunday the blizzard warning for Maryland has been lifted. Over the weekend, Winter Storm Jonas brought over two feet of snow to towns across Anne Arundel County.

No travel ban was issued for Edgewater throughout the storm, but Governor Larry Hogan is still urging residents to stay off the roads while crews get to work.

We asked Patch readers in Edgewater how they felt about the plowing done on their block. Here’s what they said:

  • “The crews are working hard to do the best they can to get it done. It’s a thankless job and I’m proud of the work they’ve done.”
  • No plows here....but I know they’re extremely busy.”
  • No one has plowed since last evening.”
  • “County has not been here but we have an awesome neighbor!”
  • “Yes, we had private contractors in Deale. They did a great job.”
  • “Absolutely! They did an amazing job!”
  • “ I think they are obviously doing the best they can. Main roads come first”
  • “Loch Haven had plows running every couple of hours.
    Main road was pretreated before the storm.
    Can’t complain, I think they did a great job!

  • “So pleased that Loch Haven was on the “plow” list during this storm! Also a huge thumb’s up to BGE for the power staying on. I have no complaints at all--heat, water, light--the necessities of life! Thank you to all who made this happen!”
