Galesville Quarterly Dinner: Guest Speaker Author Mick Blackistone

Join neighbors and friends for an evening of good food and stimulating conversation.

The first Quarterly Dinner meeting for 2011 will be held Tuesday, March 15, at the Galesville Memorial Hall starting at 6:30. The menu will be corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, salad and dessert. The price for the dinner is $15 per person for members and $20 for nonmembers. 

Be sure you make your reservations with Dee Dixon, either by calling 410-867-3622 or emailing her – deejdixon@yahoo.com by March 13. It is so important that our count for attendance be as accurate as possible both for our cooks and for table seating. If you make a reservation and do not attend or cancel, you will be billed.

The dinner speaker will be author Mick Blackistone and his presentation is titled: “A New Decade: Current Issues Facing the Bay and its Watermen.”  Mick Blackistone is an award-winning author of books for adults and children. He has also been a lobbyist, a congressional press secretary, a PR specialist, a VP of the National Marine Manufacturers’ Association, a Chesapeake Bay waterman and is now editor of the Waterman's Gazette. Mr. Blackistone has received numerous awards and recognitions from local, Maryland State -- including being named an "Admiral of the Chesapeake" by the Governor in 1992 -- and national organizations. He will have a number of his books for sale and for signing.
