The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Hospice of the Chesapeake seeks volunteers to provide support and companionship to patients, families and caregivers.  As a Patient Care Volunteer you will provide companionship to patients and a respite for caregivers by making weekly visits to assist with meals, reading, transportation to medical appointments, errands and other practical needs.  Classes for Patient Care Volunteer Training are at the Prince George's office, 8724 Jericho City Drive, Landover.  To register or for more information, please contact Julie Medlin.
