High school juniors in good academic standing can get more information on becoming the 2011-2012 student member on the Board of Education of Anne Arundel County during an Information Night scheduled for Jan. 19.
Anne Arundel County’s student member on the Board of Education is the only one in the nation on a local board who has full voting rights.
The nomination process for the 2011-2012 seat opens on Feb. 2 and ends at 5pm on March 3. A candidate will be elected by the Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils on March 24.

That candidate’s name will be forwarded to Governor Martin O’Malley, who makes the appointment.
