South River High Shcool Music Holds a Play-A-Thon

The Ochestra, Concert Band and Jazz Band of South River High School are holding a 9-hour Play-A-Thon on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The event will begin at 8 AM
and culminate in a concert that goes from 4-5 PM.

"The Play-A-Thon is designed to be a fun and educational event where performing groups get together to enhance skills. Guest professional conductors and musicians from the local area will be volunteering their time to provide instruction and direction. We are looking forward to a great day of music!” explains Jerry Cavanaugh, South River’s Instrumental Music Director. “An added bonus is the opportunity for the students to get pledges as fundraising to help defray the cost of the Spring Trip to Florida and some other music expenses.”

The event is coordinated by the South River Music Boosters. Family members, pledgers and other guests are invited to volunteer and/or attend the 4 PM concert.
