Firefighters Rescue Man from Creek in Edgewater
The man was not wearing a life preserver, and spent nearly an hour in the cold waters of Cadle Creek.

A man was rescued by Anne Arundel County Fire crews after boating a mishap on Cadle Creek in Edgewater Thursday night.
The Fire Department’s Facebook page says the incident happened about 9:30 p.m. near the end of Linden Avenue in Edgewater.

The Capital-Gazette reports the man had gone out on a kayak to reset the anchor on a sailboat when the kayak hit some ice and capsized. Authorities estimate the victim was in the water about 45 minutes; he was not wearing a life preserver.
After a brief search the man was found and taken by a paramedic unit to Anne Arundel Medical Center in serious condition. While the 43-year-old was uninjured, he had symptoms from the exposure to the cold, authorities said.
