Fisher’s Famous Hot Dog Stand to Stay Closed This Summer
The popular Edgewater hot dog stand will not open this summer. The owner told Patch he'll concentrate on future plans and sales of Crab House Mustard.
A summer ritual has ended for Edgewater diners.
Fisher’s Famous hot dog cart, which traditionally opens for business around Memorial Day, will stay closed this summer, owner Brian Fisher told Patch in an email.
"Fisher's Famous Hot Dogs won't be opening up this season," he wrote. "We'll be using the time to plan for the future and introduce our Crab House Mustard to crab lovers everywhere."

Located at 77 West Central Ave. in Edgewater, the Fisher's Famous stand is known for a variety of hot dogs, soft pretzel rolls and Fisher's Famous Chili.
Fisher introduced a few new menu items last year, including: the Chesapeake Bay Dog (crabby mustard, tomatoes, onions, Old Bay and crumbled bacon) and Hawaiian Dog (pineapple, Sriracha Sauce and crumbled bacon).

On Facebook he noted that his popular mustard is for sale online and at area stores. And the hot dog stand will resurface, in some form, in the future, he said.
A couple of customers suggested that Fisher start a food truck to share the popular hot dogs.
This reaction on Facebook was typical. Jennifer Lewis DeReamer posted: "No!!! My kids are going to be devastated. All winter they said, "I can't wait until Fisher's opens." We will certainly miss you."
We wish we could tell you otherwise but Fisher's Famous Hot Dogs will not be returning to the Edgewater location we occupied the last couple of seasons. We will not have a regular location for 2014 as we work on our plan for the future. Fisher's Famous Hot Dogs' mission has always been to serve the world's best hot dogs on the world's best rolls with the world's best toppings. We've had customers from as far as New Zealand confirm "mission accomplished". And locally, Bay Weekly readers voted us "Best of the Bay."
Our favorite topping, Fisher's Famous Crab House Mustard, is available in local stores including Graul's, Annapolis Seafood Market, and The Big Cheese, and restaurants such as Big Fish Market in Rehoboth Beach and Fish Head Cantina in Baltimore, as well as online at www.crabhousemustard.com.
Serving customers and developing friendships is what we love most. Your loyalty tells us we are doing something right and we want to do it even better for you. Fisher's Famous Hot Dogs will live on. What, where, and when is being determined. In the meantime, please stay tuned for Fisher's Famous news and updates.
Thank you,
The Fishers
