Good News on School Lunch Prices for Next Year

Anne Arundel County Public Schools doesn't plan to raise the cost of school lunches come fall.

From the AACPS Communications Office:

School meal prices will remain unchanged for the 2015-2016 school year, the Anne Arundel County Board of Education voted Wednesday.

Full-price breakfast at all levels will cost $1.50, elementary school lunches will cost $2.75, and secondary school lunches will cost $3. The price of milk will remain at 55 cents.

Reduced-price breakfast and meal prices at all levels will remain unchanged.

The school system’s Division of Food and Nutrition Services receives no county money, and instead relies on revenue from federal reimbursements (51 percent), food sales (46 percent), and state funding (3 percent) to operate, the district says.

During this school year, the Division of Food and Nutrition Services will serve more than 3.4 million breakfasts and 5.4 million lunches.
