Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. MILLERSVILLE, MD — Anne Arundel County Police are asking for the public to call authorities if you see John Herbert, who was reported missing from South County. Herbert, 73, was last seen on Sunday, Sept. 24.According to police, he suffers from some medical issues; anyone who sees Herbert is asked to call 911. There are indications that Herbert may have been in the Great Mills area of St. Mary's County within the last 48 hours, police say.
