How Long Will Maryland's Beautiful Weather Last?

BALTIMORE, MD — After two sunny days without smothering humidity, we’re waiting for Mother Nature to slap us back to reality.

When is the next ferocious thunderstorm headed our way? Is about to feel like 100 degrees outside again? The answer: Not any time soon.

Enjoy this calm stretch of summertime while you can, especially if you are lucky enough to start school on Aug. 29.

The National Weather Service forecast for Maryland calls for a pretty clear week, marred only by increasing humidity by Friday and a chance for rain Thursday night and again Friday afternoon. Expect highs in the low 90s and sunny skies this weekend.

“The heat ramps higher Friday with highs likely in the low-to-mid 90s, accompanied by mostly sunny skies and high humidity,” says the Capital Weather Gang. “Partly to mostly sunny and not quite as hot Saturday and Sunday, with highs probably in the upper 80s to low 90s, and humidity retreating to the moderate range. So far, no signs of anything more than a slight shower threat each day.”

Forecast for the rest of the week:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70. South wind around 8 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 8 to 11 mph.

Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94. West wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 77.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 72.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 91.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 73.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
