Howard “Robbie” “Scoop” Roberts, 93, a resident of Ft. Pierce, FL and Bethany Beach, DE, and formerly of Edgewater, died of pneumonia April 5, 2015 at Gilchrist Center Hospice in Columbia. He was born October 8, 1921 in Washington, D.C.
He earned an AA degree from Indian River CC in Ft. Pierce, and at age 75, he earned a BA degree in elementary education from Florida Atlantic University. Roberts served in the Army during World War II and earned a Purple Heart. He retired from the Postal Service as a postal inspector and then worked as a real estate agent.

He was a member of the Annapolis Elks and American Legion, and enjoyed carpentry and home building.
Preceded in death by his wife, Geraline Roberts, his daughter, Donna Roberts Rusinko, and seven brothers and sisters, he is survived by his grandsons, Nicholas Rusinko and Gordon Rusinko.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, April 10, from 10 AM to noon, followed by a funeral service at noon, at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Avenue in Annapolis. Interment will follow in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Rt. 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054.
