ICYMI: Maryland Near the Top of Telecommute Savings List

The state of Maryland is near the top in telework savings nationally, according to Wallethub.com, with an average telework savings of $11,725 yearly.

With National Telework Week starting on Monday, March 2, Wallethub says that the U.S. could save more than $900 billion and prevent 3.6 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions, each on an annual basis, if more people were allowed to work from home.

An estimated 50 million U.S. employees would like to telecommute, according to data from Global Workplace Analytics.

To help people determine how much they could save by working from home, WalletHub launched a new Telework Savings Calculator that allows people to input information about their vehicle, their commute and the number of days they want to work from home in order to discover their personalized work-life balance.

National Average: $10,594 annually per person
