Jewelry Store Plans Food Drive with Prizes

Donors to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank have a chance to win diamonds, a TV, or a Kindle Fire from Little Treasury Jewelers.

The owners of Little Treasury Jewelers in Gambrills have kicked off a food drive at the store to benefit the Anne Arundel County Food Bank – and donors might also receive something.

Anyone can bring canned food to the store in return for “Bling Bling Bucks.” These certificates are part of a contest in which eight prizes with a total value of $7,400 – from a diamond pendant to a Kindle Fire and a 55-inch TV – will be offered.

The owners say prizes will be awarded to the top eight participants who save up the most BB Buck Certificates.

Store owners Steve and Linda Hammalian say the food drive is a “fun way to gather food for needy families and a rewarding way to thank those who participate, by giving out prizes.”

Some of the other ways to gain Bling Bling Bucks are by redeeming the store’s newspaper ads which run in The Capital, Bowie Blade, the Maryland Gazette, Bay Weekly, and Baltimore Sun and by returning weekly postcards mailed out to each participant.

No purchase is necessary to participate and all the prizes are on display in the store.
