Joretta Mae Crosby, “Jo”, 74, a resident of Edgewater, MD and formerly of New Carrollton, MD, died on Friday, June 5, at her residence of cancer.

Born on March 18, 1941 in Mt. Hope, WV, Jo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking walks with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lewis Crosby, who died on August 24, 2011. They were married on September 9, 1961.

Jo is survived by her children, Karen (Matthew) Raeder of Severn, MD, Christina (Brian) Wyant of Seminole, FL and Kevin (Christina) Crosby of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Jonathan, Adam and Paul Raeder, David, Rebekah and Hannah Wyant and Kyle, Ryan and Luke Crosby. She is also survived by two brothers and a sister.

Friends are invited to celebrate Jo’s life from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 12, at The Church at Severn Run, 8187 Telegraph Road in Severn. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville.
