Lothian Crash Involves Deputy, K9 Dogs From Calvert County
Three people were hurt in a crash early Monday, while two Calvert County K9 dogs in one vehicle were not injured, officials said.

LOTHIAN, MD — Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash involving a Calvert County Sheriff's office K-9 vehicle early Monday, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. Also involved in the crash were two K-9 dogs with the deputy; the police dogs were not hurt.
The accident was reported shortly before 7 a.m. on Solomon's Island Road in the area of Nutwell Road. The two K-9 dogs that were with the deputy were retrieved by the Calvert County Sheriff's office, officials said.
One person was taken to Calvert Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. A 28-year-old man was taken by paramedics to Prince George's County Trauma Center in Cheverly with serious, but not believed to be life -threatening injuries.

The 32-year-old deputy sheriff was taken by paramedics to the R. Adams Cowley Trauma Center in Baltimore with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities have not identified the officer, or said if charges are pending in the accident.
