Man Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Tree: Police

EDGEWATER, MD — A 43-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a single car accident Sunday that occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. along Solomons Island Road near Poplar Point Road. According to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, the man was the only person in the vehicle. He had crashed into a tree and become trapped.

Firefighters had to extricate the driver, which took more than half an hour, the fire department reported. He was flown by the state medevac helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in serious condition.
