EDGEWATER, MD — Margaret “Peggy” Baden Phibbons, 89, of Edgewater, passed away on Dec. 24, 2015 after a lengthy illness.
Peggy was born on December 26, 1925 in Baden, MD, and was the only child of the late John Turner and Margaret Duvall Baden. She married the late John “Billy” William Phibbons in 1947, having been married almost 52 years.

Peggy attended Western Maryland College and retired from the Maryland State Health Department in 1983.
An avid sports enthusiast, she also enjoyed reading and travelling and was a charter member of the former Crabtowners Travel Trailer Club.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Margaret Johns Woody and her husband Robert of Edgewater; her grandchildren, Meg J. Dixon and her husband Glenn E. Dixon III, and Jon R. Woody, also survived by two great-grandchildren; Glenn E. Dixon IV and Hayden A. Dixon.
Friends and relatives may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.
Graveside service at Lakemont Memorial Gardens will be private.
