Marguerite Marie Chirigotis (Reynolds) died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida at the age of 94.
Marguerite was born on August 8, 1920 in New Albany, Indiana to Theophalus Henry Reynolds and Jeanne Claudide Zoe Charlot Reynolds. She attended Loretto High School, Spalding University in Louisville, KY and graduated from Anne Arundel Community College with a degree in art.

After 20 years of moving throughout Europe and the Far East with her husband, a member of the US Army, they settled in Severna Park, Mayland. In 1985, they moved to Annapolis, Maryland. They maintained homes in Riva Trace and Annapolis, as well as in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Marguerite worked for US Naval Academy Primary School as French instructor. She also worked for the Anne Arundel County School system, instructing a French pilot program.

Marguerite was a member of the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was accomplished in art and French instruction. She was an active, generous and dedicated member of the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She held several positions including the president of the local Philoptochos, and on the Metropolis Level which included the New Jersey Philoptochos, which included Southern District.
As chairman of The Ladies of Agia Anna Philoptochos of St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Marguerite participated in creating and fully illustrating the Greek Cookbook, which was used as a major fundraiser for the church. As an accomplished artist, she helped to restore the valuable icons and paintings that are now a part of the St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church heritage.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Lt. Col. Frederick Fotis Chirigotis.
Marguerite is survived by a daughter, Jeannette Marie Chirigotis; two granddaughters, Vanessa Marie and Lindsay Michelle; one great-granddaughter, Audrey Marie; a brother, Marcel Charlot Reynolds and his wife, Connie Marie Reynolds; three brothers-in-laws, Steve, Nicolas and William Chirigotis and his wife, Margarite; a sister-in-law, Stella Gianakos; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Family will greet friends on Thursday, March 26th at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD from 4:00 to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 27 at Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Rd., Annapolis, MD , officiated by Father Kosmas Karavellas. Interment St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
