The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. EDGEWATER, MD — Mayo United Methodist Church, along with the American Legion Cummings-Behlke Post 226 and Scouts BSA Troop 2018, are hosting a Military Families Night Out for active duty and veterans on four nights now through December. According to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/45529039730/permalink/10157523792164731/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">organizers</a>, the event offers veterans and activity duty families the chance to enjoy a few hours for free to enjoy dinner or go holiday shopping while the kids are being care for. The designated nights are Oct. 12, Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 18 from 5:3o to 9:30 p.m. at the church, which is located at 1005 Old Turkey Point Rd., in Edgewater. The event is for kids ages five to 13. Children must be registered in advance by emailing post226chaplain@gmail.com. Be sure to include allergies or dietary concerns.
