Murder-Suicide Victims From Edgewater, Pasadena
Police say an Edgewater man hosting a party shot and killed a Pasadena man, then killed himself, Friday night in a murder-suicide.

EDGEWATER, MD — An Edgewater man who hosted a party at his townhome Friday night shot and killed a guest, then killed himself in a murder-suicide, according to Anne Arundel County Police. Authorities say the resident, Russell Robert Ramey, 45, fatally shot Devin Alexander Hayes, 24, of Pasadena, and then ended his own life.
The shootings happened about 10:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Dawnwood Drive in Edgewater. Police found the two men dead from apparent gunshot wounds; investigators determined the deaths were an apparent murder-suicide that occurred between two people attending a party inside a townhome garage. The suspect shot the victim, and then turned the handgun on himself, according to police.
There is no continuing threat to the community, authorities say. Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation.

Police have not said how Ramey and Hayes knew each other, what might have prompted the shooting, and how many people were at the townhome at the time shots were fired.
Both Ramey's and Hayes' bodies will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for and autopsy to officially determine the cause of death.
