National Ice Cream Day In Edgewater: Where To Celebrate

Sunday is National Ice Cream Day 2017! Here are places you can score a free cone, special offers and more.

EDGEWATER, MD — Ice cream lovers have a day to celebrate big-time once a year on National Ice Cream Day, which falls on Sunday, July 16. Many restaurants and purveyors offer deals and freebies.

McDonald's, for instance, is offering a free soft-serve vanilla cone if you download its mobile app to redeem the offer. The fast food restaurant has locations at 113 Mitchells Chance Road in Edgewater, plus 1941 West St., 2130 Generals Hwy., and 897 Bay Ridge Road in Annapolis.

Friendly’s is giving back to the community by donating $2 from each $2.99 Friend-z purchase at all Friendly’s restaurant locations to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Additionally through Sept. 17, guests can buy any Friend-z flavor for $2.99. Friendly's has area locations at 120 Mitchells Chance Road in Edgewater, Lakeshore Plaza Shopping Center in Pasadena, 1673 Crofton Center in Crofton, 412 Crain Highway SW in Glen Burnie, and 7134 Ritchie Hwy. in Glen Burnie.

PetSmart is giving away free doggie sundaes for pooches looking to celebrate the occasion Sunday at its PetsHotel locations. The nearest is at 2601 Housley Road in Annapolis, along with 24 Mountain Road in Glen Burnie, 7663 Arundel Mills Blvd. in Hanover and 597-C E Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie.
