Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Lothian, MD — One person was taken to a trauma center by paramedics following a car crash in Lothian Thursday afternoon, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.Just before 2:15 p.m. firefighters responded to an auto accident in the 500 block of Mount Zion Marlboro Road. Two vehicles were involved in the accident in which the driver's side of a car had been struck by a pickup truck.Authorities say the car's driver, a 23-year-old woman, was taken by paramedics to the Trauma Center at Prince George's Hospital Center with serious but not apparently life-threatening injuries.There were no other injuries requiring hospital transport.
