Photos: Fans Cheer On South River Baseball
The South River baseball team defeated Catonsville High School 6-0 Friday night at Ripken Stadium to claim the Class 4A Maryland baseball title.
Plenty of South River baseball supporters were on hand at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen Friday night as the team captured its first state title.
Despite the approximately 60-mile trip, South River baseball fans showed up in impressive numbers to cheer on the team and its long-time coach Ken Dunn.
With a 6-0 victory over Catonsville High School, the South River baseball team sent Dunn into retirement with a class 4A state title.

South River pitcher Scott Mitchell joked that it’s the biggest crowd he’s ever seen at a Seahawks baseball game.
“Yeah half these people haven’t been to a baseball game before,” Mitchell joked. “Baseball isn’t a big sport at out school. But having them here behind me I love it. It’s just the best feeling ever.”
