Police: 7-Year-Old Killed at Thunder on the Narrows
Boat goes off course and strikes crowd, according to reports. Boater missing in separate incident on water Sunday.
A girl is dead and a boater is missing in separate incidents around Kent Island on Sunday, according to Maryland’s Natural Resources Police.
A race boat was performing in Thunder on the Narrows when it went off the the course and struck a crowd of spectators. Thunder on the Narrows is a high-speed boat race, with boats reaching up to 150 mph, according to ABC2.
The girl, 7, was among the spectators. At least eight were injured, and three were flown to shock trauma, according to the NRP on Twitter.

The Coast Guard is taking over the investigation, according to the NRP.
The missing man, 32, of Silver Spring, disappeared when his pleasure boat capsized off Terrapin Beach Park on the other side of Kent Island. Four of his family members were rescued.

Those rescued were taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, according to the Capital Gazette.
