Prevent Identity Theft By Having Documents Shredded: Police

Anne Arundel County residents can guard against identity theft by taking personal documents to four sites for shredding on May 12.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — SHRED-A-RAMA 12, sponsored by the Anne Arundel County Police-Community Relations Council, urges residents to bring your personal documents and watch them be safely shredded in a commercial shredding truck. The service will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 12, at four locations in the area.

Organizers say the intent is to help residents guard against having their identity stolen by criminals. There is no cost for Anne Arundel County residents, but donations will be accepted at the site to help defray the cost of trucks. There is a four box or bag limit.

Take your materials to any of these four sites:
  • Brooklyn Park Middle School, 200 Hammonds Lane
  • Anne Arundel County Police headquarters, 8495 Veterans Highway, Millersville (front parking lot)
  • Giant, Odenton Shopping Center, 1155 Annapolis Road, Odenton (parking lot)
  • South River High School, 201 Central Ave. East, Edgewater

Binders, clips, x-rays, film, CDs, and coat hangers will not be accepted.
