Robert Cromwell Davis “Bob”, 66, a 50-year resident of Mayo and Edgewater, died on Friday, October 16, at his residence due to a heart attack.

Born on October 5, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to the late Shell Carter and Betty Lou Davis, Bob graduated from Annapolis High School and then served in the U.S. Navy where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He worked as a supervisor with the John C. Flood Company of D.C. and was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 226 in Mayo. Bob enjoyed playing slot machines, keno, scratch offs and traveling to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Davis, whom he married on March 15, 1969; his children; Randy Davis of Millersville and Melanie Davis of Edgewater; his brothers, Carter and Stanley Davis, both of Mayo and Mel Davis of Edgewater; his sisters, Rena Fallon and Lucy Miller, both of Florida; his grandchildren, Michael and Markus Dupree and Kiara Spence, all of Edgewater.

Friends are invited to celebrate Bob’s life from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21.

Interment will be at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
