Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Maryland Under Alert Tuesday Night

The National Weather Service has issued a weather alert for the metro Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas Tuesday, with hail, damaging winds and heavy rain possible.

The region is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch Tuesday until 11 p.m.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect Tuesday afternoon and evening for the cities of Baltimore and Washington, D.C., as well as Anne Arundel, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s, Carroll, Baltimore, and Harford counties.
Much of the region is also under a heat advisory until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means that the potential exists for the development of thunderstorms which may produce large hail or damaging winds. When a watch is issued, you should go about your normal activities, but keep an eye to the sky and an ear to the National Weather Service’s weather radio or local radio and television stations for further updates and possible warnings.
