A Severn man has been charged with soliciting a teenage girl for sex online, although the teen he ultimately intended to meet with turned out to be an Anne Arundel County Police officer.
The department first became aware of the suspect, Nicholas Benjamin Hittle, 34, of the 8060 block of Wayne Road in Severn, in early August. An investigator with the department’s Child Abuse Unit began communicating Hittle, posing online as a 13-year-old girl.
Authorities say that during the chats, Hittle solicited the investigator sex and suggested they meet for a sexual encounter.
