Anne Arundel Boat Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized: Report

A boat crash left one person dead and another hospitalized in Anne Arundel, WTOP said. The wreck happened in the West River near Shady Side.

SHADY SIDE, MD — A Shady Side boat wreck left one person dead and another hospitalized this weekend, WTOP News reported. The radio station did not identify the man who died. The hospitalized victim suffered minor injuries.

Journalist Veronica Canales said a small boat hit a piling in the West River around 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The collision ejected passengers into the water.

First responders rescued most of the boaters, but divers searched for the missing man. Crews found him dead 1.5 hours later, Canales said.
