Sheriff Deputy Injured, Suspect Tased at Royal Farms
Wanted individual tasered in front of convenience store on Mayo Road.
UPDATE (Dec. 22, 5pm), EdgewaterβAccording to the Sheriff's office, the suspect in this morning's tasering incident at Royal Farms was Richard Skipper, who was wanted on three outstanding warrants.
When approached by Sgt. Rhodes, Skipper allegedly pulled out a knife. The officer believed that the suspect intended to harm himself. A scuffle ensued and Rhodes received a cut to his hand. The scuffle escalated and Rhodes deployed his taser. Sgt. Rhodes was treated for a minor cut to the hand. ο»ΏThe suspect was taken by ambulance to AAMC for evaluation and treatment.

(Edgewater, 11:46am)βAn Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Department deputy tasered a wanted individual outside of the Royal Farms convenience store around 11am this morning.
Sgt. Chris Rhodes, in plain clothes, noticed a wanted individual inside the store on Mayo Road at Londontown Road. The deputy and the wanted man moved outside where the suspect reportedly resisted arrest and was subsequently tasered.

Anne Arundel County Police and Fire/EMS were called to the scene to assist. The suspect was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center.
The deputy suffered an undisclosed wound to the hand.
