Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper &amp; Jazz Fest at Mayo United Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 9 from 5-7 PM. Pancake supper followed by Jazz parade complete with Mardi Gras masks. Featuring music by Alex Abdoulaev and his mini Jazz band. Cost is free/Donation to benefit Youth Ministry.
