Anne Arundel County Police said in a statement Friday morning that the critical missing 18-year-old that was the target of a police search was seen in a vehicle traveling on Solomons Island Road and Lee Airport Drive in Edgewater Thursday afternoon. An officer stopped the late model silver Acura TL and talked with the driver. The officer, feeling that the missing teen was a danger to himself, took the young adult to a local hospital for treatment without incident.

Multiple officers looked for the 18-year-old Thursday, who was believed to have been heading toward the high school. Out of an abundance of caution, the campus was locked down and bus departures were delayed, authorities said. Police found the teen about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

The subject is not a student at South River High School or any other school in Anne Arundel County but he lives in the Edgewater area. He was considered a “Critical Missing” because police believed he could be a danger to himself.

Pictures of the teen's late model silver Acura TL with Maryland registration 7FRT24 were released by police on social media during the search.

As a precaution during the search, South River High School and CAT South were placed in temporary lockdown. All after-school activities at South River High School were canceled on Thursday, along with evening high school at the South River campus.
