South River Ice Hockey Defeats Easton 5-4

South River’s Michael McElhenny scored 3:01 into overtime to beat Easton, 5-4 (OT). McElhenny blocked a clearing attempt by Easton and was able to turn it into a breakaway scoring through the 5-hole. The overtime thriller advances South River into the Eastern Conference Championship game, Wednesday February 18, 4:40 PM at Piney Orchard.

South River also had goals scored by Ty Kaplow, Sean Gavin, Cian Foran and Michael Fohs. South River was also assisted by stellar goal tending by Joe McElhenny who recorded 22 saves on 26 shots.
