Spirit Week Kicks Off Oct. 6 at South River HS
From a day honoring the state flag to favorite sports team, homecoming organizers have dress-up days mapped out.

Time to pull together your best time travel, Wild West, sports and other looks as Spirit Week at South River High School kicks off Oct. 6
Monday, Oct. 6 – Maryland Monday
Start the week off by showing pride in the state with the coolest flag. Come sporting the colors of Maryland’s state flag: black, yellow, red, and white. You can also come sporting clothes that support our sports teams or regions (OC, Deep Creek, Baltimore) of Maryland.
Tuesday, Oct. 7 – Time Travel Tuesday
You have heard of Throw Back Thursday – we are taking it a step further. Come to school dressed in clothes from decades past or come up with your wildest futuristic outfit. All outfits must be school appropriate.

Wednesday, Oct. 8 – Wild Wild West Wednesday
Come to school wearing your boots, jeans, plaid shirts, straw hats, and anything else is the Western motif. Or go a different route and come dressed in your craziest, wackiest, wild outfit.
Thursday, Oct. 9 – Tiki Thursday
Come dressed in your summer attire – Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, beach wear, and surfer outfits. All outfits must be school appropriate.

Friday, Oct. 10 – “We are South River” Friday
Show off that class spirit and wear the color that is designated for your class. The class with the highest percentage of participation on this day will be awarded the South River Spirit Cup.
Seniors – Navy blue or senior shirts
Juniors – Columbia blue
Sophomores – Grey
Freshman – White
Homecoming Dance, Saturday, Oct 11
7:00 to 10:00 pm
South River Gymnasium
$25 each
Homecoming dance tickets will be on sale through Thursday, Oct 9. There are only 1,300 tickets available; students must have a dance contract signed to buy tickets.
