Stream Restoration Workshop Hosted In Edgewater At SERC
Stream restoration is considered to be a common strategy for reducing nutrients loads to the Chesapeake Bay.
EDGEWATER, MD — The community is invited to learn more about stream restorations, particularly in urban watersheds, at an upcoming workshop hosted by the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
Entitled "City Stream, Country Stream: Getting A Clearer Picture Of Stream Restorations," the workshop will be led by Tom Jordan, principal investigator of SERC's nutrient cycles lab. Stream restoration is considered to be a common strategy for reducing nutrients loads to the Chesapeake Bay. But the latest research shows their effectiveness can vary, according to the SERC, which Jordan plans to discuss.
